In the early post-war years of European scootering, manufacturers, not being content with the only pleasing the average commuter crowd, embarked on a mission to win over fans of traditional motorcycles. Competing in speed trials, endurance races, time trials and general road racing was seen as the best way to do this. This lead to several successes where scooters often outperformed their bigger wheeled cousins.
This beautiful Lambretta clubman endurance racer was an Italian barn-find discovered by an British dealer who brought it back to England where it was sold to our client who had it shipped to us for restoration. The machine was in fairly poor shape with many rare parts missing or broken. Through painstaking research, hunting of NOS parts and fabrication of parts from period photographs and technical drawings we turned this rough period racer into the machine you see here.
